The wineproducers of Malepère are both dynamic & passionate about their wines, select, mix & produce, with the aid of their oenologist, the great wines of the Côtes de Malepère. The red wines are essentially produced by mixing the grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc. The other grape varieties, contributing just a hint, personalise the wine. Appearance : sustained colour, deep & lively. On the nose, the dominant perfumes are small berries (essentially redcurrant, raspberry, blackcurrant), fresh fruits, like blackberry, & jams plus hints of spices, liquorice, truffle, pepper & lightly wooded scents. In the mouth : a powerful & rounded taste characterise the tannic structure. Good acid balance, these wines improve when matured in casks.
